[CQ] Ricoh C3002 way too dark when prnt

    Hello,
Im about to reset the nv ram on this machine. It only has 63k. The density is blotchy, the pictures are super pixeled and only when I print, the image is extremely dark, copies come out normal. I have another c3002 that also has the blotchy density and pixeled images doesnt have the weird print issues Ive gone through every sp in the book to see if there was a setting off. Everything seems normal. Ive tried ps and pcl drivers 6,5c drivers. Ive printed from the customers pc as well as from my laptop. I am at a loss. The only thing I can think off is to return the machine to factory with nvram reinitialize and start fresh. Any ideas?

Are genuine Ricoh toners being used? If so look at sp 5990-06 non-default settings and compare to the birth certificate. Make sure that everything matches the BC. It sounds like someone has done a memory clear all.

I was also wondering what if any danger there is in running a nv ram reset. sp5801-001

          I will first try a 5801-8

5801-001 should only be ran if you have the birth certificate for the mfp or a recent non-default print out.

I have an update. So i did the 5801-008 and took care of the super dark prints. Now i just have to deal with the blotchy density. I noticed today that the machines are saying "independent supplier toner cartridge is set". I told the customer that he needs to install OEM toner. The bottles in the machine say Genuine Ricoh but he ordered those on ebay. You never know. Any other thoughts?

If you do a RAM clear, you will be faced with the machine being in Japanese and possibly inability to use @remote, never do ALL CLEAR.
