    strange line

Hi guys. We have this mpc4501 producing this feint line near the lead edge on all colour prints, just visible in the examples I attached. So far changed all four pcu's, the transfer belt assembly complete, and finally the laser unit, and its still there, no change. There's nothing on the fuser. Any ideas, anyone had something similar ?

    Re: strange line

    Hi there!
Had this issue once on a MPC4500. Replacing the ptr solved the problem. The ptr looks on both ends like a timingroller, rubber not foam. hope this helps.
    Greetings...

I'll take a PTR along next visit, but I cannot see how the PTR can cause that line. There would be multiple lines, would there not ?, and this only happens when a colour print is done, not a b/w.

It was the fuser. Swapped it out and line gone. Strange because the hot roller is totally unmarked, we'll have to do an autopsy in the workshop. Thanks for the response.

That is very strange that a line from the fuser would only show up in fc

Flat spot on the pressure roller maybe?

It might be that temperature is higher (lower?) on a full color, so problem would not occur in B&W?
That the fuser unit is causing this is hard to believe, because the fusing belt is not as long as the paper itself.
So if it was the F.U., the line would be on a different place on each next print.
But... it could be that the entrance guide is dirty and in the buckle that it forms comes in contact with this guide and gets dirty?
