    mpc3003 issue

Back story: I get machines sometimes with locked out admin and supervisor codes, get the 5846-46 clear all this stuff, this machine also had a key card promt, cleared that in svc md 143 etc, etc,
problem: The machine will pick up its own IP address, I can ping it, i can email from it, put it just will not print, and i get no light blinking either, i cant access the web access, i tried http//,https// www.http/ etc etc ... still get error 404 page not exist
I memroy cleared the engine, the print , i tried port 515 in lpn with print as the name, the nic and usb are on,
is there something else some one could have done to make this not print?
    ant ideas thank you

Be sure and check no security features like ipfilter, access control etc. activated and tcp/ip services like http, lpr, snmp and so on are set to on/open. For testing set the ethernet mode to 10MBIT half duplex and restart the machine.
Backup and save the nv-ram data and address book, then try SP-5-801-010, 5-801-011, 5-801-018 and 5-801-020. Then restart the device. Printout in user tools the network configuration sheet and check the tcp/ip address.
Only after that I would install a new fresh windows standard tcp/ip port. The wizard of microsoft must complete port installation correctly WITHOUT asking for network card!!!
Check the subnet and whether the pc and mpc are in the same subnetmask.
    ...
Because of the access problem to the wim, did you try another browsers, IE, Edge, Mozilla, Chrome...?

Check SP 5985-001 On Board NIC. It should be set to 1. If it is set to 2, you can ping it but other operations might be limited.

Check the security settings in user tools - system settings - administrator settings. If it has been set to anything higher than 1 and then security turned off, some thing will still be blocked.

For Web Image Monitor, if you put http anything in front of the IP address, the browser will automatically search the internet and not the local network and give you a 404 page not found. Do not use chrome as the browser. It will give you nothing but headaches with WIM. My preference is Firefox. Type the IP address and nothing else in as the URL and hit enter.

I have had this problem with off lease machines also. The first thing I do is Telnet into the machine and run a "show" command. Look over the settings and see if LPR and Direct Print was turned off.
If you can't Telnet into the machine then to go to user tools,log-in if needed, sys settings, Admin tools. I don't have a machine in front of me so the rest of this is off the cuff.

You will be looking for a setting that is set to "custom". Its a security setting and the machines are defaulted with this setting from factory. When you find this setting you will also see "level 0 >3 as a option. Change it to level 0 and see if it resolves your issue.

        Good luck

I have a 5502 in my office, it has this you speak of, but i dont have "privileges" to use this option, though i can change it in my web browser,i did , from user(witch read "custom" on the panel) to 1 and i can change it back to user or custom, how do i do this from the panel? or how do i restore privileges with this?
im not in front of the problem machine, so thanks for any other insight

Usually it cannot be changed if Administrator Authentication is OFF. On some models it would even show on the panel if you are not logged in as the correct Administrator.

Does the Print Features show on the main menu of User Tools? If it does not, the Printer function might not be functioning correctly or disabled in SP settings.

Is access control enabled? Try an NCS memory clear.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                    Hit it.

Okay, if you've done 5846-046, log into user tools with admin and no password, go system settings / admin tools / administrator authentication management and switch it all off. Then, go into SP modes and execute 5801-011, NCS clear. Then try again.

Right, sounds like menu protect or something similar is enabled. Press the User Tools key, then hold # and press all the LCD buttons one by one. That will reset all User Tools to default.
