    RICOH MPC 4502 copies with vertical lines

    RICOH MPC 4502 copies with vertical lines
    Good morning everyone.!

    We have an abnormal problem with a RICOH MPC 4502 with intermittent vertical lines full page.

    Have cleaned and service the drum units, but the problem is same

    Please see the attachment...

    Can anyone help me?

    Thank you

    I would do this first...
    1. SP2109 003 -> 1 (1dot vertical), 2109 005 (select color) --> Copy Window -> press color mode... 3 pages A3 for each color cmy and b/w (press black mode).
    (When the lines occur in each colors + bk so you have to check the cleaning unit, ITB unit and PTR unit.)
    2. Interrupt the copying process by door opening before the paper reaches the PTR unit and then the fusing unit.
    3. It is also possible the cleaning unit of ITB does not clean properly. The pm counters have been checked?

        I would go one step further and replace the complete Black pcu. It looks more like a drum/ charge roller issue. Does the drum rotate freely if you turn by hand, or does it bind and make loud rubbing noise ?

            The pcu condition is good, rotate freely and no rubbing noises.

                First thing I would have done would be to check PM count on PCU, stop it before fuser check to eliminate fuser, are the lines always in same position. I presume paper is LEF, I hope the grey background is from your camera.

                  if u got into sp mode, before selecting the mode, there is a maint tab, select that and then do a print out. the k gets alot more usage than the counter shows. as its used in color as well. ive seen counters at 50k and the pm counter show 100k

                    MP C4502/5502 do not have maintenance counters as an option from the main SP menu.
