does anyone know
1. where i can get wiper blades, pressure rollers other cartridge parts which are compatible with RICOH AP3800 so that i can remanufacture those photoconductors? or
what other machine or cartridge wiper blade is compatible with ap3800 photoconductors so that i can use it instead without or with little modification.
2. if you can confirm that type 21 developer can be used to remanufacture black RICOH AP3800 developers
3. where can i get developer for the colors cyan magenta or find a compatible and cheaper alternative.
4. can someone be more detailed regarding the MODIFICATION of black photoconductors to use instead of color photoconductors. same as fuser from other machine. we refurb hp fusers thus why can't there be spareparts for the remanufacturing of ricoh ap3800 fusers or use other machine
thanks

I've seen some PCU refurbish kits made by katun ages ago but I never worked with it. Dobn't know if these are still available. I don't think that anyone is actually refitting the DV units of these machines. Ususally these units are running very well and better than the PM specification (ususally you can reset a DV message for one time without any trouble). But if you try to strech the lifetime too much you will get problems like DV/toner spilling.Comment

The PCU's might be rebuildable, but the developers are probably not worth it - by the time they have to be replaced the gears and seals are trashed. You're probably not going to save too much over the long haul with the drums either - aftermarket components have a nasty reputation...73 DE W5SSJComment

I'd have to agree, rebuilding these PCU's would be more hassle than they are actually worth, especially on a machine where they are designed to be replaced as a unit in the first place.
Don't cause yourself more hassle than it's worth - think of the potential cost offset of someone replacing the parts in these units (and then they fail 10% through their life) or just putting a new unit in you know will work. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Some machines you can get away with it, others it will cost you more in vacuum filters and headache medicine - case in point the early 85ppm machines - substitute developer for the older machine with the newer stuff and it will puke toner all over itself - going the other way will cost you copy quality and build up blockages behind the doc blade - it's not just the list of ingredients, it's the grind.73 DE W5SSJComment

on the mpc you need to change the conector block on the drum unit or you will get error code for the dev unit been using black for the colours for a while nowComment

You are right, thanks to your lead i was able to find rebuild kits from katun. but being able to use black photoconductors instead of colors sounds something to look at for the rebuild kits are just drum and blade. million thanks for the leadComment

But on these particular machines you need to make shure that the waste toner nozzle has the same length or you may have problems with stucked waste toner.Comment
