Ricoh MPC3002 makes some noise when starting up or before printing

    Hello.

I have this problem, that two of our MPC3002 makes this like in the video.
We changed the fuser, but the noise is still there.

Do anybody have a idea how to fix it?

    Thanks!

    Regards, Paul

That sounds like it's coming from the pressure roller contact mechanism. Check the sensor and drive gear in the machine.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

have you tried in service mode output check try turning on different motors and see which motor makes the noise happen.

That is the half moon type gear slipping (the pressure roller contact motor) you can adjust the timing with SP1151-002/3/4 set to around 800 usually does the trick.

Also I beleive updating the firmware corrects this for you.

Had the same thing happen on a couple of MP c 3002's, Try using SP 1-151-001 pressure setting - pressure change- and set to off. Fixed my problem. Has been over 6 months now.
