does anyone know if they fixed scan to folder issue for a apple computer with there new copiers. I know in past there were software changes to the computer to make it work.

As far as I know FTP scanning works just fine on apples, though you do have to set up an FTP server, no idea about SMB.

The latest firmware for the SOP fully supports SMB v2/v3. See file link in post 18 by Copier Tech in this thread. Also file sharing might need to be turned on for the MAC.

This currently only applies to the 04 and 04ex color models and the 03 color models. The remaining copiers are 'coming soon'.

Go into terminal, to start it type in:

          sudo -s launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

          then press return.

          To stop it type in:

          sudo -s launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ftp.plist

          and press return.

Create a Scan folder and share it at the root. At the desktop click on the "Go" icon and then "Home". Here is where you want to create your folders.
Right click the folder and go to "get info". Here is where you set up your share rights.

After you share it out you will want to right click the folder and select "Make Alias". A second folder will be created with a arrow. Drag this folder and move it to your desktop, this is your short cut to that home folder

On the newer MACs after you turn on FTP you will see at start up something similar to a DOS start up command. That is the FTP services turning on.

The only drawback on using FTP is that you need to use the IP address. Once in awhile I will need to walk my customer through on how to fix up their scan paths.

Bingo! I have been doing this the few few months and its been a solid solution for Mac users that have to have scan to folder. Very easy set up and very few drawbacks
