mp 4001 toner issue

need some help please, i have a ricoh mp 4001 that after toner was replaced still saying toner depleted, how does this machine sense toner?

Check the toner bottle tray and the toner entry chute on the PCDU for clogs or obstructions

Agree.
Was the bottle you replaced empty?
If so, there's a god chance the plug from the top of the bottle is still in the toner hopper and blocking the flow from the new bottle.
If not, then probably either a toner sensor, or toner adding problem

I've had to replace a density sensor for this issue in the past.
It's an awful job too.

Strip the toner hopper and check the 4 mylar paddles haven't come unstuck
