This is where my comment came from. Client phoned and demanded we check the machine for "toner usage". Printed the report and showed her the figures. Turned out an employee decided (on her own) that hessian print is a lovely background on their fliers. She did not realise that it EATS yellow toner though! Problem solved!

In reply to my own post the issue is obvious!

My two bobs worth.....Have you tried another yellow dev unit? May be problem with the dev its self ie. wrong dev or contaminated dev. The toner may not be sticking to the developer particles properly so going straight through into the WTB.

To reiterate my previous post, the machine does not have the usage to justify a production machine or even a 60-65 ppm model.

No an MPC2003 to a pro series is not necessary, but say an MPC4503 would be an ideal replacement.

Still depends on actual average monthly volume. Target color ratio is the same.

                  Re: MP C2003SP

Machine installed three years ago, but it usually works ocassionally, on summer time.
Well, today i found a slight(?) difference between the value that is given/written on Yellow pcu from manuf.
and the value registered at SP 2-005-0238. In other words, instead of "-29", value registered was "-27".
I remembered pcu replacement was done under user pressure : "i want to print", "i want to scan" and
i didn't notice a pale background of yellow, in color prints only.
By changing the value and opening my eyes as much as i could, i believe that case is closed.
Thanks again for your very helpfull suggestions, all of you!

Yeah but a more durable machine with longer PM parts life.
