yes he said it best. an actual authorized ricoh tech. would have a login to the ricoh website and would be able to download said firmware. and others who do have it wouldn't share it just as stated per the forum rules.
Never mind the forum rule, how about potentially jeopardizing ones job or dealership for openly sharing with unauthorized users / techs. If Ricoh wanted just anyone to have access to the files the download area would be publicly accessible. There are reasons why only Ricoh direct and dealers (there are other entities that also get certain access, some even deeper than us mortal techs) are granted access, even if it is as simple as it beign company IP.
Sorry for the rant. I just get steamed when folks think things like firmware and documentation are just for the asking.
