    MP 2852 fuser rebuild

I will be ordering a fuser fuser rebuid kit from Precision Roller. Do I need anything else? I see the manual calls for a grease that should be applied to the UFR. Will any white lithium grease work or do I need a high temp grease? I have the HP grease.

You are better off with high temp grease, but regular white grease will do the trick. Keep an eye out for the plates that the lamp screws into as the might fall out one the lamp is out. It's pretty easy

I normally carry hot roller bearings as well (just in case).
They do wear / dry out which can cause a clicking / creaking noise.

you can buy the teflon grease and if bearings are tight some triflow will loosen up
any gunk and free them..........i would suggest you pay attemtion where the upper fusing bearing sits on the frame as it is easy to put it in a bit off..at least as i remember mp 2027...you dont want the fuser gear hitting the frame,,,,,,,,,,,clean all thermisters if not changing them........clean metal cleaning roller

That fuser heats up to around 190F degrees so use a high temp grease or at least verify that the regular grease you are using can handle those temps. Not sure what you mean by HP grease (Hewlett Packard?) If the HP grease you mentioned is the one they use for lubricating the inside of HP fuser sleeves----that should be fine.

I use Super Lube. Yu can order it online or check with you nearest Harbor Freight. I also pack the bearings with either super lube or silicon heat sink compound.

I also include the UFR bearings when rebuilding these fusers.

I have used that stuff and it smells pretty bad when burning off, lost a customer because of it.

I use the AE030047 just remove the collar or keep it on if the frame is broken.

You must be thinking of some other lubricant such as Lubriplate.

Molykote HP-500 is a fine high temperature grease, and has no smell whatsoever. Sharp recommended it to the creaky MX-2300 fusers. If done properly the fuser didn't creak until the rollers wore out.: https://www.diytrade.com/china/pd/10...00_Grease.html

Uniflor 8172 is also a fine high temperature grease. I've used it for HP fuser film lubrication. It does not smell: UniFlor 8172 Uniflor Fixing Film Grease, Genuine (S4800)

Is there a reason that Dow Corning says Molykote HP 500 is not available in the United States? https://www.dowcorning.com/applicati...OD&country=USA

Like Uniflor, like SuperLube is a PTFE thickened high temperature lubricant. Less expensive than what Ricoh sells but considerably more than than the type of SuperLube I have been using.

I don't know. Maybe just through distributors, not direct sales?
