    [Misc] Ricoh MPC 2503

    Please can somebody advise?

I have a issue with a MPC2503 where the colour alignment is slightly off, please see attached pic.
this was spotted atter a dev & pcu assy was fitted.
On investigation it seems old print outs whichare building plans have the same issue but not been spotted before.

    whats been done

ACC - Force Line adj - fimeware updated Engine-Sys/copy-network support.

advised used to update the driver via the IT dept. I have been told that the driver has been updated.

Any advice please as need to know if its the copier?

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

you need to get an 8x jewelers look and do a manual line adjust... PIA.. did the Forced Adj kick any errors?

Did you clean the ID sensor assembly before running forced line adjustment? I have had times when just cleaning th e sensor pulled the colors back into alignment.

In the past, Ricoh has had some problems with slippage of the ITB causing alignment to fail after a few copies. If you have another machine available try swapping the ITB units.

I had one instant where at the back end of the shaft that the right hand ITB unit release lever there is a latch that had broken. Since it holds that end in position, it caused the unit to move forward slightly when the shutter solenoid for t he ID sensor engaged. This threw the adjustment off.

          Hi Slimslob

Yes i was thinking on a possible ITB issue. to be honest no i didnt clean the ID sensor, Will be visiting back to investigate further so will start from scratch and to that first.

I'd also agree it is probably an ITB issue. Check the tension roller, I had similar issues when a tech didn't tighten one of the screws all the way.

              BIG thanks to all

Yes it was the ITB - I even tried the suspected belt back at our workshop and BOOM! same issue.

              Thanks to all again
