Why are you using RPCS? Get a config page off the machine and check the "supported languages" bit, what does it say there?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Try using the PCL drivers for that machine. The 2550 has PCL installed native.

The MP 2550B, the B is for basic, came with no native print function and B/W only scanning. Apparently the salesman tried to save a few bucks on cost and only added the RPSC Printer Unit Type 3350, EDP code 414402, instead of the Printer Scanner Unit Type 3350, EDP code 414401. The solution is to add the Printer Enhance Option Type 3350, EDP code 414114. This will add PCL support.

To add on, essentially ALL support has been stopped on RPCS, and redirected to PCL6.

Im surprised it even works at all at this point.
