MP301spf firmware not loading

Trying to load firmware like I have done dozens and dozens of times but having no luck. Loaded firmware on the SD card installed in slot 2 and firmware shows up on screen like normal. Touch ROM file to be loaded and hit update and nothing happens! Tried different SD card (have seen SD card cause this before on diff model) but no luck! Any ideas?

Maybe try the old firmware reset :Firmware reset - All Clear > "1" > "4" > "3" > Stop x 3 times .
Do this with the card in and then reboot.
Worth a shot I guess.

Ricoh calls it "firmware reset"...or at least they USED to.
If I had been suggesting an "SP5-801-001- Clear All" I'd have posted that up.
You used to do the Firmware reset for firmware updates that failed...or gave you an E-49 of some other E codes.
If you don't want to try that you could try:

Enter service mode SP5-886-001 Permit ROM Update and change the value from "0" to "1". Then reload firmware again to resolve problem.

OR you could try SP5-801-003 (SCS Memory Clear) and try the update again?

I have seen this with corrupted downloaded firmware. Try downloading again. Then reformat the SD card using the Panasonic SD card format utility. Update= reformatted sd card and all is well! I use it so much I guess it should be done more often.

How long did you wait? sometimes these little 301's take ages to become 'ready'

Try again as suggested above but also give it time after the initial ROM screen displays.

Also you could try the remote FW via the WIM just do the engine & system then try your SD card again.
