    Mp1600 Vista Home SMB scanning

I have a user that has the following:
    Windows Vista Home Edition
    Panda Internet security
    Linksys 4 port router
    Ricoh Mp 1600

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
I created a new folder in C:\Ricoh Scans
Then created a new user called "Ricoh" password 1600
I shared the newly created folder and applied everyone full rights and also added the Ricoh user as co owner with full rights to this.

I then disabled the panda internet security and ms firewall I also went into security settings for vista and disabled ACL,password authentication for folders. I Tried to test comm from the machine failed to find PC. So then I upodated the NIB firmware on the machine and still no luck. So I tried updating vista and still no luck, the TSE guys tells me he thinks that the machine is not compatible with vista home edition. Any help would be appreciated on this one.

I setup a MP 2000 scanning to a Vista Ultimate folder share not to long ago without any issue.

Remember the scan to smb connection test is a pile of steaming shite, it nearly always fails when it shouldn't.
I manually enter either the full unc share path or at least the PC name as a starting point then browse to the share.

The only way I've been able to get Vista to work is put the scan folder in the Public share. HTH
      Hope that helps !

I with tmaged (except for his avatar) The easiest way especially for Home is to put the folder in the Public Directory.

Also, when connecting with Vista, update ALL the firmware not just NIB

All editions have samba and the abillity to share a folder and set permissions.
There all based off the same NT kernal, it's just a case of what features are missing.
