Press stop button to stop the previous job, check that there is not a previous scan job waiting.

The C2550 DF uses a photo interrupt sensor and flag arm, at the rear, to detect the original.

The sensor could be faulty or dirty, a quick test is to turn on the panel sounds, and place an original in the DF, if it beeps, then the sensor is good.
