Lanier LD140CSR can't find replacement Drum and Dev assy's...

I've spent a few hours researching a new customers supply items and can't find Drums and Developers.

Their current machine is in need of a black developer and drum replacement.
Just picked these folks up as a new customer and now can't find these OEM parts for sale.

I can see this is a somewhat odd duck as far as Lanier goes.
Called PR and talked to tech support about using the Ricoh equivalent and they said probably shouldn't just in case there's a different pinout or
    connector issue.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I JUST picked up a few more of these and if the pm counters are correct they run well over 60k.
as for difference between ricoh/savin/lanier i would have to ck as i have only seen ricohs and savins..
the engines are the same but might have a plastic tab to break off or something

Let me know what you find out.
Not having any luck finding the Drum or Dev. assy.
There's quite a few other parts available just not these 2.

      Weird

      Thanks

That is because they are not supply items. They are parts and can be found in the parts catalog.

Nice try but it looks to me like the parts catalog is the same. The older differences had to do with the fact that Savin, Gestetner and Lanier were either independent distributors of Ricoh products or partially owned subsidiaries and not wholly owned subsidiaries. In fact if you go back far enough, they even made certain parts different such as the toner bottle holder on the Aficio 551/700.

Maybe invest in a parts catalog, simple to locate.

ok as a tech doing thus over 35 years some of us dont have the deluge of manuals and information that those who stay with the "mother ship".
We scrap and scrape to keep machines up and still make a living. If i can take a part from a different machine and use it I DO..
sometimes i wish i never left the big company but i am not one to play "politics" nor kiss ass so i went solo...
it has its goods and it bad too.

I appreciate the constructive help here...
That being said, I have a service and a parts manual for a MP C300 and know this is the crossover model.
I also have been in this business 18 years. And remember having toner bottle / toner hopper fitment between Lanier, Savin, Gestetner and Ricoh.
Drum cartridge issues between Xerox and it's cross over Sharp models.

Manufactures love doing this brand specific part stuff: Ford and Lincoln, Buick and Pontiac, Lifelike and Walthers(LOL model train stuff).

I was told not to buy these 2 items (Blk Drum and Dev) per tech support at PR.
Why you ask...possible part fitment issues between Lanier LD 140csr and its crossover Ricoh MP C300.

So I came to you folks with a more hands-on knowledge of the issue and hopefully better answers.

So without all the extra does someone know if these 2 items:
                      M0263034 = Black Dev. unit
                      M0262024 = Black PCU
are a direct fit to the Lanier LD140csr that I'm working on?
BTW PR guy said it was a connector fitment issue.

Best I can tell and despite the tech support advise, I'm thinking the will work fine.

If you have hands-on knowledge please advise me.

Thanks so much for all your help.

I too have been there with the older b/w copiers and have a few mpc300s i am going to work on.
I will tell when i check my savin vs ricoh, but i think they are all the same on these units..
worse case you have to pull the harness and td sensor, which i ve yet to do..
I have two sets of SPC430DN drums that I know I will figure how to work in the c300/c400 series..

There is no difference between the Ricoh MP C400SR, the Savin C240SR and the Lanier LD140CSR other than the model sticker on the front. The only model I have worked on that had fitment differences between Ricoh and RFG models was the Lanier 5455/5470.
