I have a Ricoh mp2510 that is displaying change photoconducter unit, usually no big deal. The pcu in the machine has a green carry handle. The one I had on hand was the one I use in the mp2550. I installed it but the message would not go away. The machine works otherwise. I noticed a small gear on the back of the green handle pcu that the other does not have. I can't seem to locate this green handle type. Does anyone know the difference between the two or the part number of the green handle one?

Re: Ricoh pic question
The one with the green handle sounds like a Type 1027. Originally used in the Aficio 1022/1027/2022/2027. The small gear has a flag on it that rotates to activate a reset switch on those models. On the later models the PCU can be rebuilt, PM kit available. The 60K PM counter needs to be reset in SP mode, refer to the service manual. -

Re: Ricoh pic question
with these units drum and developer there is zero extra room in the developer unit so if it was shipped you might have one side of the developer units packed with developer and little on other side..This could happen if it sat standing on its front or rear side..
S o laying flat as if in the machine, you might want to gently shake it side to side ..Comment
