    Ricoh Aficio 240W Scanner Problem

    Hello!
When we use our Ricoh Aficio 240W as a scanner or as a copier, it makes a white (blank) strip about 5 inch wide along the copy or scanned image. Location of this strip is exacltly the same. This strip has fading (uneven) edges and it looks like the local part of the exposure lamp gets extra bright. Sometimes this effect disappears, but always returns. Cleaning the inside of the scanner doesn't help. Neither we nor official service has no idea of fixing this problem.
Printing works well, so the problem is definitely in scanner.
Machine was bought 2 years ago brand new. We used it a little, very carefully, with official service, cleaning etc.
What should we do? Please help!

If your image problem is occuring in copy and scan mode but prints are OK, the CIS has failed and will need to be replaced.

Before replacement of the CIS check and reset all connections.

What connections should I check and reset? Is there a manual or something? I think that CIS will cost a lot...
