    MPC2000 with error c501

MPC2000 with error c501. Does this mean lift motor issue for tray 1. I stopped by yesterday and tray was not overloaded. I turned off and reloaded anyway just to rule out. Also no paper behind tray.

I thought I had read about a pickup solenoid somewhere. Would i need to access both the lift motor and pickup solenoid from rear. And does controller box need to be swung away. I have sm but temporarily unable to locate. Frank/ActionPhotocopy

It could be caused by a couple of things. The actuator in the feed station being knocked out of position, the lift plate of the tray being bent are just two. Something to have a look at anyway.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Thanks TonerMunkeh. Is this the paper actuator above tray or is there another at feed unit you are referring to. I will also ask customer before going back if it happened after loading paper or removing jam etc . Frank

The actuator is between the feed and reverse rollers in the feed station. You should be able to see it hanging down.

SC 501 does not necessarily mean a lift motor issue. It means a problem, any problem other than a miss feed, with tray1. A common problem is a sheet of paper in back of the tray that interferes with the lift mechanism of the tray, not the motor.

Thanks again TonerMunkeh + Slimslob. I will check out actuator and other possibilities. I already checked for paper behind tray and there was none. Frank
