    MPC3003 noise

    Hi,

An annoying squeaking sound when I do the SP5804-136 = Transfer Drum Motor K
Even without the ITB and PCDU-K installed.
Meaning motor replacement or checking the drive unit? (Hell of a job I think . . )
    Someone experienced this?

    thanks in advance

it's one of the gears of the TCB drive unit.

Usually the annoying squeak we get is from the ITB unit. Disassemble, clean shafts, lube bushings. But if your squeak still persists without the ITB in, then I think you're on the right track with the gear pack. Have never had a squeak there (knock on wood), but have had a squeak on these models, Brand New out of the box, that ended up being a rusty shaft in the exit unit drive gears, which you have to get to from the back. These machines aren't too bad about accessing drive packs and what not from the rear.

Had one recently that would still squeak without ITB and such in it. Turned out to be Waste Toner Bottle. Hope this helps.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the original posters would return with a report of how their issue was resolved and actually contribute to the consortium?

                  Thanks for suggestions!
I've just found RTB RD147104a and ordered the silencer. Will let you know how I get on and try the WTB etc if needed

He would most likely have even more if he wasn't on so many ignore lists.

Quick update on the issue, we ordered the silencer from the technical bulitin - didnt do anything noise was still there.
Was pretty sure it wasnt related to the WTB - the sounnd was comming from the other side of the machine.
Swapped out the ITB unit and no change.
Swapped PCU and Dev - squeek gone
