[Misc] Password reset on a Ricoh MP 3554

I misplaced my password for the Ricoh MP 3554. I tried every variation of admin and supervisor combination (including blank) I don't want to factory reset the machine, as we have the mail SMTP setup as well as all the users.

Does anyone have a service code for this machine or know of another way to reset the password w/o resetting everything? Any help is greatly appreciated.

This works on 4502 so it may work.. Go into the factory service mode. Not the standard service mode. Reset,1,4,3.clear, hold clear again for 5 seconds. Then your in factory mode. sp 5846-46. Execute that and when you turn the machine off and back on just enter your new password or just hit OK to enter no password. hope this is what your looking for. The sp may be different in the 04 then the 03's but the name should be the same.

Thank you @AMS - I tried using the code above and it didn't work. The printer doesn't have physical buttons, so I get to a screen where I can enter the code and nothing happens. Could it by chance be a different code for the 3554?

Not possible from WIM, has to be done in front of the machine.

Thanks TonerMunkeh - What I meant was, will it reset the web login? Or the physical interface login?

I believe you can go into user tools -> system settings -> administrator tools -> down one page to "Program/Change" Administrator and then you can change the passwords in there. You may have to log in at the user tools screen as "supervisor", (if you don't have an option to log in, then change the "admin authentication" in user tools). Hope this helps.

Thank you @AMS - I probably should have clarified this in the first post. Is this for the web login reset? Or is this for the physical login at the machine reset?

Ideally I'd like to reset the web login if that's possible.

If you go into the "Document Server" app on the screen, you will get a keypad that you can use to go into SP mode with.

So I was able to get in with Reset 8,0,6,1,8,2 clear - But when I am in, 5846-46 wasn't there. Is there any wording I am specifically looking for so I can reset the correct one?

That's because it's not in Regular or Special SP mode...it's in FACTORY SP mode. Scroll up for the procedure on how to get into that.

"AMS" is right (and guitar9199), Factory mode, 5846-46, cycle machine, and it should be defaulted back to "admin" with no password.

It won't default to "admin", it will only reset the supervsior credentials, so then you can log in and reset the admin credentials.
Oh yeah...it will also wipe out the entire address book.

BTW.....Factory SP mode has no business being shared in a public forum.
