    MP2501 ovetone after toner replacement

    Hi all

Searching CTN I have only come across light copy issues on these boxes.

We have recently come across a spate of ones that overtone as soon as a toner is replaced.
It clear after about 150-200 copies....

All parts in the machine are OEM (dev, drum, etc) so that is not an issue.

Have any of you had the same? have you come across a fix for this?

I would appreciate any feedback greatly, as we have one customer that wants to toss their box because they have quite high usage of their machine, so they see this condition very often.

when its overtoning, are there traces of developer on the page - light black dust that didnt get fused?

I have noticed this issue also.
On the PCDU there is a cussion, where the toner supply unit drops in the toner.
That cussion might loosen and blocks the toner hole.

Mark would that not cause light copies? Or am I missing something?

Our condition is the other side of the scale where it overtones after New toner is installed and only stabilises around 150 copies later.

Which developer are you using? B121 or D158?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                Hit it.

B121. We used D158 originally and had light copy issue.

Then switched to b121 from then and all went well. There are just some out of the whole fleet who behave this way. I am at present aware of 2 boxes that do this.

Pick one as a victim and fit it with the D158 dev, then run the arse off it and change the bottle. See if the fault persists.

                      Worth a try. Thanks.

P.bear: it could be that the toner entry hole on the pcdu is partially blocked with that cushion.
So, the copies are fine but at the same time toner is everywhere...
