Ricoh MP C2003 - service call informations (SMC report)

    The machine has "service call".
    Page Counter: Color Total: 24.419, B & W Total: 51.790

    SMC report:
    Description: ----- Current: ----- Target:
    PCU:K ----------- 38.733 -------60.000
    Dev Unit:K ------109.125 ------120.000
    PCU:C -----------46.708 --------48.000
    Dev Unit:C -------46.708 -------120.000
    PCU:M -----------46.708-------- 48.000
    Dev Unit:M ------46.708-------- 120.000
    PCU:Y ----------46.708 ---------48.000
    Dev Unit:Y ------46.708 --------120.000

    What would you do?
    1.) This is clear: I will change PCU:C, M, Y
2.) What about Dev Unit:K? You will be waiting, or you change it now?
3.) What about PCU:K - it is necessary to change drum with new Dev Unit:K or not?
4.) When is "service call" coming on screen - which % before is this message coming on screen? (Because, when I want to change three PCUs: C, M, Y and clear the counts in service menu and when the message will be back, when I do not change Dev Unit:K)?

There is another PM counter in the machine that will be named "Paper" sp 7804 when it hits a value specified in SP5501 the machine will display "PM Call Please call service" though this may be split over two different lines.

Generally SP 5501 is set to the rated life of the K PCU which for this machine is 60,000

Looks like maybe the K pcu was changed earlier than yield and someone forgot to reset the Paper counter.

If everything was good quality wise with the machine I would just reset the paper counter and leave it at that.

Only one think was changed earlier: PCU:K. I forgot to reset "Paper", when I changed PCU:K I reseted only 7804 (PM counter).

I think now it must be changed PCU:M, C, Y, (because early it reaches the limit 48.000). Than I make "paper" reset, 7804 reset and it is enough??? What about next "PM Call"? When it become to the display? Where can I looked for the next "PM Call" or what to set to the 5501 now??? (and what about Dev. Unit:K - not change yet?) And 5501 only counted PCU:K ?

Something is not right with those numbers. Why is the PM count of the color PCUs and Development Units nearly double what the total color unit is?

          SMC report:
          Description: ----- Current: ----- Target:
          PCU:K ----------- 38.733 -------60.000 - this PCU:K was changed, had 70.392, than I changed it and reset, now it has 70.392+38.733 = 109.125 (as Dev Unit:K says).

          Dev Unit:K ------109.125 ------120.000 never changed
          PCU:C -----------46.708 --------48.000 never changed
          Dev Unit:C -------46.708 -------120.000 never changed
          PCU:M -----------46.708-------- 48.000 never changed
          Dev Unit:M ------46.708-------- 120.000 never changed
          PCU:Y ----------46.708 ---------48.000 never changed
          Dev Unit:Y ------46.708 --------120.000 never changed

Page Counter: Color Total: 24.419, B & W Total: 51.790 (??? I do not know why this numbers at page counter, maybe A3 copies, but at the first moment it was very suspicions counter). I do not know the buying history of the machine.

But the SMC report is right. Because I dissasembly the PCU:K (first time, when I was at service), the PCU:K had 70.000 pages and SMC report, and the PCU:K was used (worn).
We must look at SMC report.

What to do when I change PCU:M, C, Y?? 7804 (PM counter reset), than 5501 - "paper" and this is enough??? When will become the new "PM Call" at display after this resets in my case?

Check SP7942, PM Counter Displayistance(%). Generally speaking, a much more accurate prediction of PM life. Page count does not take in consideration of the affect on rotation of variation from recommended average pages per job.

If the customer does a lot of color A3/DLT, you might also check the SP5104, A3/DLT double count function. When set to 0, an A3/DLT page are counted as 1 page for the B/W and Color totals. PM counters might always count them as 2. I believe that starting with the 03s, you have to be in Factory SP mode in order to access SP5104.
