If memory serves me correctly, this is the model that we had a problem with intermittent, yet persistent non-feed jams. The Hot Line suggested disconnecting the harness to the sensor that is used in the process for tray lift pressure (results in pure mechanical lift pressure) and we never had a problem again.

Again, this was more than a year ago, and I don't remember what jam number we were getting, but Tech Support was quite quick with the suggestion and it worked. Sorry I can't remember more details.

    Cheers,

Disconnect CN310 on the BICU bd . This will give max pressure on the lift plates and you don't have to deal with the various adjustments that don't seem to solve any problems anyway. The only disadvantage to this is the trays show half full all the time on the display panel. It will still show out of paper when the tray is empty. I have used this fix numerous times.

I've had the same problem with this model and, as Tonermunkeh said, the sensor pops out of the rear of the machine.

However, I'm in a good mood as I just got back from watching the Mighty Arsenal stuff the Wanky Mags 1-3 and any fix is a good one right now.

So, any chance of a fix for my eCopy problem chaps?

I believe radman1's solution is essentially the same as to what I was told, just interrupting the sensor's input at a different place. It definitely works.

Well Manure did half of the job themselves! Add Liverpool drubbing Villa 5-0 today and it's been a pretty successful weekend for us, even if I can't fix the eCopy problem!

lol...So I DVR'd the Liverpool game this morning since I was out of the house and now I'm watching NCAA basketball, avoiding hearing the Liverpool-Villa results. Only to find it here!.. Reminds me of the day back in the 94 World Cup when I worked at a major youth soccer tournament all day and manged to not hear the result of the Italy-Ireland match which I had recorded. Drove home, got out of my car, and my neighbor sitting on his porch called out, "How about Ireland!?".

              Cheers

I had a similar problem recently where after the machine was left to go to standby or first thing in the morning it would jam a couple of times it would jam entering the fuser. I found the gear that engages the fuser works by a solenoid pulling it back however to return the gear it has a leaf spring sitting just behind the gear housing. If you take out the fuser the assm is to the left of the fuser conection block.

I gave it a slightly extra bend and sorted.

I know the original problem is ancient now but I have found the spring disappears of the registration actuator sensor arm and just leaves gravity to work the arm. This normally accounts for the fact that its intermittent. I tend to fix the spring in place on the arm with a little adhesive.

I also have this kind of problem, double feeding, jamed at reg sensor, jamed but no paper found and wrong paper size appear.
i not yet try on on upgrade firmware but what i found hardware is the sensor at the back always out of position, inside reg clutch dirty with dust and i found inverter motor caused problem on duplex even simplex.
for the problem - jamed inveter section i replace motor and clean the solonoid - jamed reg i replace clutch and clean the paper dust collection - double feeding i check the sensor at the back and glue it so will not loose.
pressure roller can cause jamed if your meter reading over 100k.finally i always clean all rubber and plastic roller's at duplex unit...

I have also found on numerous occasions that the side and end fences are way to tight against the paper stack. this will cause the machine to not be able to properly lift the stack causing the tray to read out of paper, or the sheets are just too tight in the tray to properly feed and non feed jams occur. purely operator error in some cases. if they don't change the paper sizes in the trays, fix the fences in place so they can't move them.

Also, I reduce the separation pressure by cutting 1 coil off the sep spring if I don't have the 'new' sep pads per service bulletin to stop the groaning noise produced by these babies when they feed.

                            Hi guys,

I found that the actuator underneath the papertray unhooks. and then the machine can't read the papersize. And if you would program the tray size, it will work a good for a while and then start with intermittent jamming.
