This is on an MPC6000 .
Customer called with add black toner message. When I went there the older toner was in machine and message said that the black toner was "undetected".
I took another OEM toner which was new but had been opened and was OEM and installed it. The machine appeared to be in toner add process but after a short while said that black toner was empty and to add a new one.
There was no toner in the black toner supply assm. and the clutches were not turning. The message was coming on rather quickly as though the machine was not giving itself a chance to add toner. Cleaned out the cyan toner supply assm. and swapped it with black one to see if it would pull the black toner but got same result.
A friend who is knowledgeable on machine pointed out machine shortcomings regarding this type of problem and is sending me some info to look over and mentioned that the machine may not be responding as it is seeing same toner chip that it failed under several times and and may need to try another toner before going any further.
Just want to have as much input as possible before going back as customer has not paid me for time spent on machine so far and want to be sure to be prepared when I go back. Any help is very much appreciated. Frank
