Yes, if you don't require the fax option.
If you do, then the process becomes more complicated
Merge applications if required. On older products applications needed to be merged to the Postscript card, on newer products it does not matter which direction merging is done.
A word of advice, it the card in the bottom slot is a JAVA card, you must stop the JAVA application in User Tools before removing it to merge the other 2 cards. If you don't, you risk having a toasted JAVA card and control board. Rather expensive mistake.
Out of interest why would a MAC user need to print to this old b/w machine!?

Not necessarily a MAC user. There small regional hospitals that have information systems that require PostScript printers. Not all of them can afford to replace printers when they fail.

Quite true!
There are a ton of possible reasons as to why PostScript is required, other then Macs being involved.
Not related, but here is a pet peeve of mine:
I see "Macintosh" abbreviated incorrectly as "MAC" on CTN almost daily.
A Macintosh (Apple) computer is referred to as a "Mac" (short for "Macintosh"). Only the "M" gets capitalized.
"MAC", on the other hand (all caps) is an acronym for "Media Access Control" (as in a "MAC address"), which is a networking term.
Linux and UNIX pretty much only do PostScript, too. VERY little PCL.
I remember a few years ago, there was a Konica Minolta Fiery that was PostScript only, and offered PCL as an option. That was a Color MFP.
Going back almost 20 years, the Canon iR600 (and the printer only version, the iR60) were PostScript only with the early version. Those were B&W, with embedded Fiery controllers. I think version 2.x gave it PCL.
