    228c skewed copies

    Hi guys,
I have a 228c that when producing trimming patterns the lines are slightly skewed (all over) as if the paper is being skewed rather than it being a laser issue. The forced line position shows good (010101) and i have tried another transfer belt, adjusted reg buckle and swopped the side door over, any ideas??

    totally:

replace that black bias roller wich is running above the transfer belt - it's located on the right side where the paper comes in from the registration rollers ( G080-3965 )

Cheers for the reply Jan,,,, i have swopped over the transfer belt unit as a whole with another machine, but i did notice it was slightly better, but not great, do these bias rollers cause skewing issues often? if so i will get some ordered.

I've seen this issue on a few machines including newer generations wich are based on the same engine. But I admit that I haven't really recognized that until one of our cuastomers mentioned the skew wich was indeed very noticeable if you print something like a full page excel chart or a test pattern. It took some time to found the problem but after replacing the roller we could reduce the skew from ~5mm down to ~1mm wich I can sell as within the tolerance.

After this experience I've checked other machines and - oh lala - many of them share this problem. Unfortunately cleaning this roller makes just a slightly improvemt so you have to replace it.
