    MPC 5502a crooked scans

Scans are crooked through the ADF. On the glass is near perfect. Copies are fine through tray one.

I mostly service Sharp. Is there special adjustments for the ADF other than the slotted screws on top?

Ricoh machines are subject to having heavy handed users lean on the left front of the scanner unit and actually deflect that corner downward. Use a bubble level on the platen glass to check.

If you're scewing through adf and not on the glass then adust the adf for scew. Never had to do this myself cos they're usually quite straight. Would be worth cleaning the paper path and feed rollers also. When you get it fixed have the 'be gentle with your copier' talk with the customer.
