    spc830 pcu into mpc3002

I know there are a few (very old) treads that have treated this issue.

The pcdu spc830 will not fit in a mpc3002.
The pcu of spc830 will fit - without any adjustments - in a mpc3002.
When a development unit spc830 is placed in a mpc3002, message "place pcdu correctly" will appear.
Is there a way to fit a spc830 development unit in a mpc3002?
    Thanx.

If the unit fits, just transplant the loom. Ricoh likes to swop wires to cause this message....

Indeed, it fits in place perfectly.
So, it will be a matter of wires.
Anyone any idea which wire needs to be swapped?
      Again, thanks.

Try comparing the point to point drawings.

On the colour SPC830 printer units...swap the TD sensor from the existing pcdu to the printer unit and it will work.
You can do the same for the Black printer unit but you'll still have to wire swap.
Like Copier Tech stated...have a forum search and you'll find a guide on how to do the wire swap.

When the TD sensor is removed, will the developer not leak out?

I have not seen any c830 yet but on the mpc300/400 series using the c430dn printer parts the TD sensor was double sided taped on and
there was no hole as it read between the plastic chassis...might be the same here..
My issue with flipping a dev unit upside down is all the "crap" gets stirred up and then you get mag roller voids..
IF that happens i get the ny times and dump the tank and sift it thru a plastic strainer.
It will catch all the big pieces..

                      No...because it's just a board....not a piezo sensor.

When you flip the pcdu you do it prior to removing any seals.
the SP830DN td sensor is just a board with no access to the dev.
