    @remote SP C262SFNw

got a customer wanting @remote on a SP C262SFNw. he is roughly 300 miles from the printer, trying to remote into it and set up @remote. i'm not finding anything in WIM to add this certificate number.

can this be done? the documentation is 2007.

    thanks

What does the customer expect to gain by setting up @remote?

its a national account. all their machines are supposed to have @remote reporting (meters, toner). we are a local dealership that supports the local machines (they have @remote). their it is trying to get an out of town location to report.

the it has logged in but we havent found it on the WIM to set it up.

If you are logged in as admin to the WIM, there should be a section for @remote setup under the Machine Configuration.

Given that these are basically retail level machines I would not be surprised there is no @remote option in the WIM.

I remember the WIM on it's predecessor being rather limited in comparison to a full size MFP or even say a MP201

I would suggest that you login to the Ricoh Learning Institute and take the training course(s) on @Remote as there are a number of different types of @remote. Setup can vary depending the type of @Remote. There is information on TSRC as well.

Without looking around in the menus I don't know if it's there, but in WIM it will be called 'RC Gate' so you won't likely see @Remote/AMR. Course if they changed that since the x03 models I'm outta the loop.
I don't have access to machines anymore short of a 161 so I can't really help there, but it can be easily missed if you're only looking for the name @Remote.

To add to that, if you can get your hands on the manuals attached to that training, it is a life saver for @Remote. The training itself is horrid and end-of-life, but those manuals make up for it.

The SP C262SFNw has a PR controller, not GW. This controller does not have the same level of functionality and does not not support @ Remote (Cumin) which is the embedded versipn that can be configured via WIM.

It can be monitored with @Remote using an appliance. ('Basil box', @Remote connector.)

Ricoh needs to correct their brochure to indicate that. Would lead to less unsatisfied customers as displayed in this thread.

guys, i dont know how to post this without coming off as arrogant...lol but take this with the intent its meant to be...

i WAS a Ricoh tech for 4 years, not a dealer tech. i am @remote trained, the embedded is usually a piece of cake, i hate the gateway devices tho...lol

i'm not experienced as some of you, since leaving Ricoh, i work for a Ricoh dealership and therefore we dont use @Remote, except for this one customer. they have machines all over the country, but their IT is based here. the IT was trying to remote in and find out why the machine wasnt reporting like the others.

it was throwing me off as he couldnt WIM in and check that. surprised it didnt have that. i guess he will have to get an appliance set up if he wants that to report.

thanks for the assist in this.

Ok, yeah, but does it support GW email? Ricoh has to know!
