This is the second MP-C2051 I've seen this on. The noise is only during the copy cycle and it seems to be coming from the lower rear of the machine. I've taken the covers off and the noise is loudest by the power supply. Has anyone seen this high pitched tone coming from a capacitor or transformer? All the threads seem to mention the PCU's and other mechanical issues. I could be way off base but this seems more electrical. Your input would be most appreciated.

these models are known for making screeching sounds but they usually originate from the fuser. There is a service bulletin about it :

Re: Ricoh AF MP-C2051 High frequency noise
It is warmth related (more noise in warm environement).
Lubricate the bushings of the ITB cleaning unit.
Remove panels and use output check (pcu and ITB rotation,...), at that time perhaps remove pcdu's,...
I am also trying to solve this mistery.
This week I had an appointment with a customer, but at this moment it is rather cold here in our country, so we delayed the meeting.
If the noise is coming from the power supply it is rather a different noise than from turning shafts in there bushings!
