Then you did not put it in batch mode before you did anything else. It should not start until you hit the #. If your sales staff cannot figure it out, they need to contact Ricoh Sales Support. In fact your sales manager should have done so before ever selling the machine. Prevents unsatisfied customers.

you need to have set indiviual trays as cover and slip trays before it will do what you need the option to do so is in the user tools but the person that demonstrated it should have shown you that.Leave a comment:

I think there has to be something wrong because not only can't I switch trays, batch doesn't work. As soon as I scan the first couple of sheets it starts printing the pages.
We have an ROI and I have NO choices in the print driver.
I guess our IT department are going to have to work with Ricoh to fix this.Leave a comment:

When using cover/slip/designate chapter you should be able to pick different paper trays in the printer driver and I know you can from the machine when making copies. HOWEVER, you will need to make sure that you are using preferably the driver specific to the machine MPC##04ex or the Ricoh Universal print driver and NOT a "Ricoh class driver/Ricoh class driver plus" driver.Leave a comment:

Methinks you need to call the company and have your salesman return and walk you through the steps to do what you are wanting to do. It IS possible he has no clue about programming the type of job you need, so ask them to send someone that actually knows something about this machines operation. Cover and slip sheets are possible, although a finished job with various paper sizes may be a bit of a challenge. Don't let a salesman take your money and run and leave a tech to clean up his mess.We recently got a Ricoh MP C4504ex which was promised to do all the things our old Sharp could do. The installation was yesterday and the trainer was no help at all, I don't think he knew what I was talking about.
Does anyone know of a way to build a job on this copier/printer? Specifically I need to print/copy a job using different paper trays, to produce a packet with different color and size pages. The whole idea behind this is to a avoid printing or copying the job in pieces and then having to collate the package by hand.Leave a comment:

Job build is just called other things on Ricoh boxes.
The sections I think you are needing are:
Covers
Designate
Chapters
Slip Sheet
Chapter contents - - Copy/ Document Server

It needs to be programmed in your computer application program itself...
