    MPC4504 powering off?

    Hi,

    Installed an MPC4504exSP last week.
Now the customer complaines that when printing the machine
machine that he has to power on the machine manually.
    Visit the customer later today.

Is this an adjustment in the energy save mode? (fuser off)
The printer must activate whatever the energy save mode is adjust, or not?

    Someone?, thanks in advance

I guess you've got to start by updating ALL firmware.

Is the 'Eco Night' feature present and active? If so, then after a period of time in subdued light the machine will actually power off, not just be in sleep mode. I haven't looked at you specific model but I have had this complaint on other models having this feature on by default. Check settings in user tools under timer settings.

Looked in the manual, no Eco Night feature on board . . .
There is an "fuser off" mode, but that does not power off the machine . . .
          tomorrow visiting customer

Just because a machine comes in as new, it does NOT mean the firmware is current.

I’ve had arguments with a few sales people, as recently as just a few months ago, where they assumed current firmware.

We were installing AutoStore, and the SOP firmware on the MP 402 wasn’t new enough to support it.

The rep got all snarky with me because she had to send a tech out to update it.

Updating firmware is a standard procedure we used to do ever since the MP CXX03's. With firmware updates occurred some on a daily basis there was no way that, by the time that a new machine got to our office, the firmware was current

Sounds like the machine doesn't respond to a print job by automatically waking up from energy saver/sleep mode. Issues like this are normally resolved by firmware. Even if the machine has the current version firmware, might have had a glitch during the install and might need to be reinstalled.
The o4 series is very similar to the 03 series. On the 03 series you could diagnose if it was a timer issue by going into SP mode to Disable "Sleep Mode Timer"When this timer is disable and the name of Sleep Mode Timer is greyed out in User Tools, the machine does not enter the sleep mode.
                  1. Set SP5-305-101 to a value of 0 to display Sleep Mode Entry by Sleep Timer setting on the User tools
                  2. Set the Sleep Mode Entry by Sleep Timer setting to "Disabled" in User Tools.
                  3. Make sure that the Sleep Mode Timer is greyed out.

I agree, flashing the firmware is the first port of call before all else, then take it from there.

I'm sorry but I have learned over the decades doing this.... ALWAYS update firmware to current version. ESP if you are having some funky issues.

I never let a new box go out the door UNTIL firmware has been done ( yes and on repairs in shop also.)

sounds like "Wake On LAN" is disabled... turn on and the print jobs sent should wake the unit up.
