Ricoh MP C300 firmware update needed

The IT guy at the customer office insist on using only SMB for scanning, he insist that the only way he will work will be by updating the firmware so he can connect to windows 10.

Anyone can let me know if there is an updated firmware after 2012? Actually after 2015 (when windows 10 arrived).

If it is available can you help me get it, I'm not a Ricoh dealer obviously.

    Thanks

You are looking at two major problems here. You are apparently not a trained and authorized Ricoh technician, otherwise you would know how to obtain the necessary firmware. This is important as this a major change to the system, i.e. adding support for SMB v2v3. You make a mistake and you could crater the customer's machine.
The second problem is that you appear to be a taker. You have no green cards and no reputation points.
I suggest you tell the customer IT that he/she needs to contact Ricoh-USA customer support and they will send a trained and authorized tech.

If the device has embedded @remote enabled, the Ricoh dealer may be able to walk you through updating it over the phone. I am not sure if that model has that capability but it may be worth asking the dealer.

If he was an authorized Ricoh tech, he would already have that bulletin and in fact the firmware.

no frankly you are the one not displaying a professional attitude.

you NEVER have any insight to help others ( rep power )

you always are asking for free firmware....

you never take to heart what the techs KNOW to be the fix.

you don't thank/like others for their help.

like I said in another thread. I'm done trying to help you... and from the looks of it... other EXPERIENCED techs here at CTN feel the same as I.

Because AS Slim stated...you can now scan to a Win10 machine because it's now using SMBv2.0./v3.0.
More red cards in your future methinks.

and the tech that gave the login ( even IF you don't have access ) is in violation of Ricoh Dealer Agreement Rules.

And as such it is a violation of CTN General Rule 5. Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed.

Has your IT tech checked to see that SMB is turned on in windows 10 some of the update to it turn off SMB by default. It is a simple process done through "programs and features" "turn on/off windows features" had problems with this myself. to bad most techs on this website are to arrogant to tell you.
