    SOP panels interchangeability and models

    hi
I only started selling used units with SOP panels,ie mpc3003 and mpc401sr .
Did it start on these model in the color segment?
Was wondering if it was an option on mpc3002.
And can you swap panel from different machines?
    thanks

No the MPCxx02 series never had that SOP option.

The panels are interchangeable, check the part numbers.

The MPC401 takes smart op panel type m10 product code D190. The C3003 takes smart op panel type M3 product code D148-81. So I doubt they are interchangeable. Even if they physically are interchangeable the firmware may not work.

There is a VERY specific procedure for converting the Normal op panel on the MP CXX03 series to a Smart Op panel. Make sure you follow it correctly.

The operating system update procedures for the SOP are ALSO very specific.

              Hi

All The Android panels are the same, except for the brackets and possibly back covers.

As far as changing a normal panel to Android, I agree with the previous poster, as there are settings that have to be done to tell the machine that it now has an android panel and not the standard panel.

                HI
                Thanks.

I never did a swap over from NOP to SOP.
I did see you need to do FW "SOP"version.
Do you swap panel 1st and then flash FW UPON 1 ST REBOOT?

I believe you have to update the SOP system firmware 1st and then the SOP Engine firmware (with NOP still on) and then the rest of them (SOP versions). Then there are a couple SP modes you need to change (if I remember correctly)5748-101 and 201, turn machine off, swap the NOP for the SOP, turn back on, and then go back into SP mode and change SP 5752-001 and 1041-001 (I think those were it) . Hope this helps.

                    THANKS..
I like it much better when i go to pick up my machines and to my surprise i find it has the sop panel..
                    But I guess I can handle changing a c3003 to SOP c3003.
I have a good window wth this pending order and many other things to do.

I am curious if you "or anyone else seeing this" have ever swapped a mpc401 SOP panel in a different model"ie here a mpc3003".
I always worry about wiping out a controller by not having all the questions covered.
                      thanks.

We recently fitted an mp402 panel to a mp6002 to test if the 6002 panel was faulty (which we confirmed) as the 402 panel started right up and the original 6002 panel just shone a blue power light....

these were both SOP and did you have to preload the correct FW b4 running it 1st time?
