    Never assume that firmware is not the issue. Installed firmware has been known to go bad.

      i was asking do i need to change FW on a SOP panel that was a working pull from a mpc401sr.
      I had thought some of the FW was loaded onto the op panel itself..

        from what i was told these are the only service mode changes needed
        Then there are a couple SP modes you need to change (if I remember correctly)5748-101 and 201, turn machine off, swap the NOP for the SOP, turn back on, and then go back into SP mode and change SP 5752-001 and 1041-001 (I think those were it) . Hope this helps.

          as my head clears i think your swap was SOP to SOP where as I am swapping a SOP into a machine wth NOP
          panel thus the need to pre install the SOP FW b4 swapping out the NOP panel for a SOP panel.
