    PRINTING PROBLEM (MP 3055sp)

The client has 4 machines of same model which they are using for several months. One day, he called up and he raised a complaint about the machine in engineering office which is not printing. So I went there with laptop and personal router and I checked the machine. I connected it with my router using network cable and my laptop was connected in wireless connection. The printer was printing with no issues.

I presumed there was no problem in the machine but in the client's network instead. I connected the machine to the client's network and I started pinging but it says REQUEST TIME OUT or THE DESTINATION HOST IS UNREACHABLE.

There are three ports in the area so I connected the machine from one port to another but still I cannot ping the machine. So I brought in another machine from sales office and connected it to the ports in engineering office where I was working. To my surprise, the sales department's machine was printing so there was no problem in the network portS.

I returned the machine back to the sales office and I tried to troubleshoot the engineering machine. During the troubleshooting, the machine printed suddenly. I thought the problem was solved but when I ping it,there was no connection again.

I already updated the firmware but still the machine is not printing. I also initialized the printer system and cleared the printer application but no luck. The counter of the machine is only 13178.

What is that tact switch for as shown by the arrow in the photo.20180801_140230.jpg

    Any ideas?

did the machine get IP address by DHCP or did you put it in yourself, I would let the machine pick up all the info via DHCP first and test see if it works

The machine, connected to the client's network does not obtain IP address automatically. I also tried to assign static IP address. The two IT personnel of the company were there trying to resolve the problem but they could not. Even if I used the IP address of the other machine, still the machine is not printing.

But the machine can print just fine somewhere else correct?

It is printing fine only when connected to my router. But not printing (or it printed twice and then not printing again)when connected to client's network. All network ports in the client's office are active. In fact, if you connect the other machine to those ports, there is no problem at all.

good so the machine works so the problem will be on the customer network. DNS maybe not been resolved try changing to IP address, update drivers,is it wireless and ethernet networks ??

You mean three different cables from the wall to the machine? Have you checked to see if you have an active network at the jack?

There is network cable for every network port. All network ports are active. I checked it by connecting it to user pc and other printer.

You said that if you put your router between the mfp and the customers network then it prints fine. Have you connected to the mfp directly to your laptop with a cat5 cable and tried to print? If it prints that way there is something going on with how that mfp is connecting to the customer network. Print out the network info from each machine and compare them to see if there are any differences. ie network speed, ip range... You might also clear the network info SP 5801-001 NCS can be used to reset all network settings to default and re-enter everything .

5801-001 is a ALL CLEAR...If you scroll through 5801 you will find the NCS setting. I believe off the top of my head its 007. The last thing you want to do is a 001 or a 002.
