LTR-R ADF Image Shift... The Solution!

I was working on an MP C3502 today, where everything was OK, except the image on LTR-R paper was shifted to the front side of the paper by well over an inch. This would only happen on copies run through the ADF, and ONLY on LTR-R paper. Everything else (LTR Format, Prints, copies off the platen) was well within specs.

Under the ADF Top cover, there are 4 width sensor actuators. They all physically worked, but Width Sensor 2 would always show "ON", regardless of the position of the sensor actuator.

It's amazing to me how sometimes a small "dust bunny" can cause such strange issues. So...if you ever have images that look like the one below, I hopefully just saved you about 30 minutes of troubleshooting!!

Just for information, by LTR-R do you mean SEF or LEF? SEF is Short Edge Feed and LEF is Long Edge Feed.
