    Ricoh 2238C and...

We're having trouble with a 2238C which is giving a bit faint copies. When we test is as a printer it's OK....
It is not that big a difference, but it's still noticeable for the customer.
The optics is clean, the lense/CCD unit is changed. The lamp is changed, and also the power supply to the lamp.

And.. does anybody know who's making the lamps for Ricoh? Just out of curiosity. I'm looking for detailed information about how the lamp in the 2238C works. Since there is no filament in it, and it's not working like a fluorescent/gas-discharge lamp. I was hoping that the homepage for the company could provide me with some details. (I'm a bit technophile )
Kurabe is prited on the silicone wire to the lamp, and I see it's a Japanese company. But the homepage gives no info. Do they make the lamp or the cable...

Is this for B/W, color or both? What settings are you using for copying? Text, photo or text/photo? What type of originals are they running? From the glass, ADF or both?

I've seen some of these machines need a lot more scan settings changed when wanting to copy color accurately. Most times the customers are not educated enough on the settings or are just too lazy to do anything but pick up the phone and call. I have not seen any issues with the scanning hardware issues yet. Most times a few changes to the scan settings can do wonders for the copy quality.
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.
