MP5002 jam code 25 LEF only

    Hey guys,

MP5002 getting a duplex jam 25. Only seems to do it on duplex jobs that are more than 1 page. When it jams, one sheet of paper is halfway into the fuser and two sheets are in area Z, one in front of the duplex entrance sensor and one slightly below that.

Tried swapping inverter motor, duplex entrance and exit sensors, right door switch and open/close guide.

    Duplexes SEF all day long.

if you have not already done so, try cleaning the sensors and transport rollers of the paper output unit well after the fuser unit

Situations with jams may happen because of:
      1. Dirt on pathway like toner spill or dust
      2. Dirty path rollers
      3. Dirty or faulty sensors or clutches and sometimes
      4. Incompatible paper types
So cleaning the pathway, rollers, sensors or paper type check may help. Work on clutches as a last resort.

You may want to remove your Z jam gate on the inside of the door and check for shrapnel at the bottom. You may also have a rough edge on a paper guide that has worn from paper over time. You can sand it down if nessasary.

You probably already know this but just in case: the duplex unit has four one ways, two in the front and two in the back. They're on the drive rollers that drive the belts. I've seen a ton of weird jams in those duplex units and usually cleaning the one ways and of course roughing up the shafts they ride on take care of the jamming. If its a hard sensor failure it will do it every time usually. Also the vertical transport rollers will get slick and throw the timing off, causing jams.

There is a set of rollers, 3 on a single shaft on the fuser, check them to see if they have been knocked out of place. Usually one end is not still seated in the bushing.

This is what took care of the issue, but I appreciate everyone's responses. I removed and cleaned every single one-way in the duplexer, and just for good measure, I pulled the exit assy and gave it the same treatment. Problem solved!
