RICOH MP2550 fogged up exposure glass

    Hi Guys

I live in South Africa next to the coast. I have a MP2550 that will fog up its exposure glass and optics after 200 to 300 copies. I have installed a optics heater and checked all the fans. still no success.

    Any ideas

The machine is in a church office. No aircon, not alot of windows and the floor is tiled. They had a 2022 before the upgrade and it worked fine

Excessive Moisture in the paper? Mississippi has problems with humidity - if the machine gets stuffed in a poorly ventilated area or shoved against the wall we can have similar problems

In the standard configuration the optics and tray heaters are only turned on when the main switch is off. Some machines allow you to make it always active, but not sure about this one.

Just a suggestion, but C-clear, ek cat crap or brillianze make anti-fog cleaners just for things like glasses or gun scopes. I think it is basically just water with a little white vinegar.
