Ricoh MP C3004 with missed bk 1-4 centimeter on lead edge

    Hi, folks!

has anyone ever had this image problem?

Only the first page has the 1- 4 centimeter of dropout/missed bk toner on lead edge. It doesn't matter pc-print, internal testpatern etc. and paper cassette. It only happens with the bk toner.

Btw, the pm counter for dev bk and pcu bk unit at 58k pages.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Aktasson

It is called lead edge void and can be adjusted in SP. The purpose is to prevent the lead edge of the paper from sticking to the fusing sleeve and wrapping around.

Nope, not in this case. Happens only with the first page but the other following pages are ok, no missed bk toner on edge. No missed toner at edge by cmy.

Not wandering, no shifting of the image. And only with bk.

Your print samples show differant size blank edges?

Yes, each of them are the first page of a multipage job. The edge always different, not the same centimeters.

Does it do it with all paper sizes and all trays?

Just to clarify, are you missing the lead edge of the image or does the image move back as well?

I'd start with looking at the registration rollers / drive.

Yes, unfortunately. Tried all 4 cassettes A3 format included with the same results.

As I said, the image is not moved or shifted. It's 1-3 centimeters of the black toner is missed at leading edge. But only at the first page.

OK, so registration hasn't shifted we can rule out the paper registration. Next I'd be looking at the transfer from the K drum to the ITB. Is the transfer roller inside the belt in the right place and moving freely?

I ordered some parts for the machine that I will have with me tomorrow for the visit. I will see. I'll take a closer look tomorrow because I'll have the time.

SP2-972-001 with a value of 150 - 200 will solve this problem as per description. It's a temporary solution but it works for now.
