Hey i have a MP 6503 that makes a big clunk noise. Customer uses lock printing and says it happens when a print job is sent to the printer but not while it is printing. Usually its just in rest mode and receiving the data in, not even waking up to print it and making this noise. Video attached the printer is not in rest mode but still makes the noise when receiving data.
I had the controller box swung out and couldn't see anything moving whilst in was in rest mode and receiving the data. Would the drum or dev turn while in rest mode receiving data but not printing? I pulled the drum and dev out and could not find any issue.
I thought it may trigger the fuser to warm up even though its not going to print but turning the rollers and nothing feels off, i didn't take the fuser out was running short of time.
Also thought it could be the draws lifting if in sleep and receiving data but i emptied and loaded all the draws no noise.
Does not happen at all during a print run.
Thanks for your ideas.
