    [Misc] Sc440 on MP2014

Hi Guys.. Need help on a Ricoh MP2014 that's keeps displaying the sc440 code intermittently.
Checked transfer roller and main Motor.. No issues there.
Appreciate some opinions. Thanks in advance.

On most machines SC 440 is usually a main motor lock. Usually caused by the paddle shafts in the development unit binding. Can also be caused by the nylon gears in the gear box that the main motor drives having worn spots from previous development binds.

Thank You.. But wouldn't that cause the machine to halt completely? We have checked the Main Motor. This happens intermittently. Anyway the machine is being brought to the workshop today so we'll do a thorough check and also check the gears as opined by you. Appreciate the response.

        From service manual:
        SC440: Image transfer current error

Might be outside the box, but check the AC power being applied to the machine. If there are multiple devices on the same circuit (especially ones that draw a heavy power load), a momentary power "sag" can cause weird things to happen....including error codes. This might account for the errors being intermittent.
