    3000 sheet finisher

    Hi,

Does someone know if the 3000 sheet/booklet finisher on an MPC5000 compatable is with the 3000 sheet/booklet finisher on an MP5002
Looks the same on the outside . . .. .
The one on the MP5002 has big problems on the exit tray when shifting and stapling the sets, it gives an loud noise when the paper is fed on to the staffel exit tray...

    Someone?
    Thanks in advance
not much experience with the 3000"s

Doubtful, the MPc5000 uses the SR3030 and the MP5002 is the SR3120.
Check the exit tray drive motor, seen them go bad and make noise.

Agreed with tufbnme ... The C5000 uses the SR3030 finisher, while the MP5002 uses the SR3120. Cosmetically they may LOOK the same, but other than a couple of parts that are interchangable, they are different!

Pull the front and rear covers off, and check the ARMS of your lower tray. I've had a couple get the "Samsonite Luggage" treatment from being shipped in, and the arms were all bent to snot!! It takes some straightening and tweaking to get everything to line back up so the lower tray moves up and down smoothly.

      Good luck.

If it's a knocking noise, you may need to replace the sponge rollers on the finisher lower tray. I have to replace them CONSTANTLY.

Yes. Same here. These rollers make the finishers clunk very loudly when paper is. Exiting to the shift tray.
