Hi, All. We just upgraded a c3300 to a c4503 at a school system. A teacher that uses Airprint said she was able to print to the c3300 from her tablet, but not the c4503. We have never supported Mac's, but I thought if it was something simple I could relay that info to their IT guy. Anyone run into this before?

Re: Airprint
First thing to check is to see if the C4503 has PostScript installed. If there's no PS3 chip, you won't be able to get Macs to print.
There ARE ways around it... but that involves installing 3rd party programs "Ghostscript" , "Footmatic" and "pximono", and that's WAY outside most field service support boundaries. -

The only issues I've had with Airprint were related to people's phones. Like 8 phones worked and 1 didn't. They updated the OS and removed/added all printers to fix it.Comment

Re: Airprint
Ok, thanks for the replies. The machine in question does not have postscript, so the Ricoh app may be the answer. I will relay the info to their IT guy.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: Airprint
You mention Tablet so if so its most likely an Ipad rather than a MAC. So AirPrint should work on a MP C4503 as long as it has a Certificate installed and Firmware at a recent level. Make sure the Ipad and the MP 4503 are on the same subnet and you should be sorted. If it is a iPAD your going to need to make sure that there is a Wireless connection on the same subnet as where the MP C4503 is.
AirPrint does not need Postscript it uses the PDF Direct service which is installed by default on every MP C4503 I have seen.
Is there user codes or similar on the MP C4503 if so it won't allow AirPrint to work.
There are more things to check but the above normally gets things working on most copiers I have to work on.Comment

Re: Airprint
i just started to place these mpc4503 and had to install a PS3 card in a few.
1st tried the mpc3503 M3 PS3 which came up in printer menu but printing it would
print nonsense and i had to ante up and buy a used M4 PS3 card online.used.
Afterwards installing was easy, just download the correct MAC OS driver via ricoh-usa,extract it and the add it via IP address..Comment

I made that mistake once too...thankfully we had another machine sold that the card was able to go into for a different customer.Comment

Re: Airprint
AirPrint is enabled by defualt (firmware update maybe required)
Also check you have the correct Postscript card for your model, however this is not needed for Airprint.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!
