MPC2004ex printing through Smart Op Panel

Is it possible to send print jobs directly through the smart op panel? Customer does not want machine on the network and wants clients to connect directly to it via the smart panel. All clients are running Windows 7 and 10.

Wifi direct on the SOP is basically for printing from a mobile device (Ipdad Iphone etc).
For the customer's networked pc's to be able to print to the wifi connected printer that printer has to be on the same network as their pc....just connected via wifi.

I believe the WIFI direct, Bluetooth and NFC are very short range. They can purchase a separate wireless switch next to the MP C2004that is not on the main network

Yea, they don't really have a network per say, it's a verizon hotspot wifi router with 4 ports on the back and everyone connects via wifi. It's a job site trailer with no cat 5 wiring. But I guess it's a network as everyone is on the hotspot. I found the instructions for the mobile devices and how to setup the NFC and QR Codes, but these don't apply to this case.

I like it, Just setup a cheap wireless router with no internet and they have to connect to that Wifi and send the print jobs. I can't believe their IT is stuck in the sand with the machine being on a completely separate network because they believe the copier is using using too much data on their Verizon plan. Ignorance. And the next service call I get is from billing that they can't get current meter from @remote.

GOOD...that means they have to manually send meters.
They can wear little bit of inconvenience for their ignorance eh?
The router path is the way to go..

I had setup one for TIC in a job site trailer out in the oil field near San Ardo, CA.

Yes you can print via the sop WiFi however this bypasses the GW controller so only should be used in a home use enviroment.

And runs very unstable, in areas with many other wifi filling the sky.
