Smart Panel 'Scan' app - Different than 'Quick Scan'

    Hi All,
I have heard that there is a new apk for scanning. This apk is different than the 'Quick Scan' app.

The problem with the quick scan app is that there are too many steps to define your scan destination, and once you have selected a scan destination and sent your scan, the quick scan app returns with an empty destination, therefore the user has to step through the destination selection for each job.

I would like to try this new version of the app to see if the workflow is better.

Is anyone aware of what I am referring too and if so, do you have the zipped apk/dalp file?

    Thanks,

I still find the classic scanner app so much less hassle. Set the defaults to 300dpi and Auto Colour Select, hit user, press start. That's it.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

I'm with tonermunkeh Classic scanner is the way to go especially if the customer had a Ricoh prior. The problem is that i heard that they were phasing out the classic versions. Has anyone else heard this?

This is a good suggestion and I will try it out.
                Thank you.

                  Thanks for the feedback all.
I agree the classic is the way to go but we have a functionality requirement that makes me have to keep digging for this elusive new scanner apk.

Also thank you for the suggestion to persist the destination like this:
                  Scanner sp 1012 // 0 = destination stays on // 1 = reset

I will give this a try, I hope it applies to the quick scanner app and not just the classic one.

I'm still looking for information in regards to a rumored new Android APK that has a redesigned scanner interface. From what I have heard, this is a new scanner UI that is an android APK therefore it should be different than the classic scanner interface.

Well, i saw only one, all yield parts can be changed without screwdriver. Like printers.

Datasharp in the U.K are taking orders for them right now.
Their website has them advertised for sale.

                        Hi All,
Today I got to take a look at this new android scan app.
As I mentioned, it is different than the Android 'Quick Scan' app.

I see this on a Ricoh IM C2000

The icon on the home screen says 'Scanner'

The android name of this app is called:
                        jp.co.ricoh.advop.smartscanner

Does anyone have this zipped apk and dalp package?

I ASSUME that since this is an android apk, that it could be loaded onto any Ricoh device that has an android smart panel.

                        Thank you.
