    Ricoh SP C435 / SP C440 density

Customer has a brand new SP C440 (newer version of the SP C430/SP C431 series) printer that they want to adjust the density much darker for their prints but there doesn't seem to be an adjustment in sp mode or the user settings that would allow the overall density to be adjusted darker. Only a Gamma adjustment. New machine,No error codes........prints are pretty much ok but a little on the light side compared with their MP C5503 copier. Most printers include a density adjustment the user can manipulate. Any advice appreciated.

Did you try to do a forced toner on all?
I find some of the c430dn i get back are a little weak in density but come back wth a little tweaking.

      1) it's not in Toner Save mode?
      2) on prints they should be able to darken it thru the driver.
      2) they aren't using WSD driver right?

I imagine doing a forced toner supply would make it darker for just a little while/temporary at best----------the dev initial settings would still be in effect and return the toner balance to the origonal lightness I think.

No, it's not in toner save mode.
I see no setting in the driver to adjust density.
Not sure on that WSD driver------------I'll have to check on how they set it up.

          Thanks for responding.

Some new machine do take a while to "settle down" how long has the printer been installed?

Forced toner supply is not the answer!
